It is an honor that we are welcoming Jakob Lorentzen, and the audience will be experiencing one of the best organ players perform on one of the best organs. The organ, which Lorentzen will be playing, is recognized as one of the most valuable historic pipe organs in the world. The organ of Riga Dome Cathedral has 124 stops, 4 manuals and one pedal, 6718 various size and material pipes.
Lorentzen has, since ending his education in 1995, performed vigorously as a soloist at home and abroad, on radio and television, participated as soloist in international festivals, participated in several recordings of CD's and movies, as well as he has published a huge series of works for Danish publishers. Lorentzen have been given concerts in many countries including Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Portugal and Italy. Among the numerous prizes he has been awarded are the Schröders Music Award and Queen Ingrid's Commemoration Medal. In 2006 Lorentzen played in Christiansborg Palace Chapel for the christening of HRH Prince Christian, and latest at the christening of HKH Crown prince Frederik’s twins; Henrik and Isabella in Holmens Church.
The concert is open for everybody, and will be held in Riga Dome Cathedral, 26th of August 2015 at 19.00. Ticket price: €10 - €15.
