Riga International Film Festival, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will take place from 12 to 22 October. Each year the festival offers a range of Nordic Films.
The Danish Cultural Institute and the Danish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia are contributing to the translation and subtitling of films, and the travel and accommodation costs of film directors. The Danish Cultural Institute invites to “Kolding Bykor” (Denmark) and Latvian choir concerts:June 3, 15.00 at Jelgavas Amatu vidusskola hall Akadēmijas street 25, Jelgava along with Jelgava’s senior choir “Gaisma” (cond. Zita Kurševa) and June 4, 16.00 at St.Catherina Church in Kuldiga Baznīcas street 31, Kuldīga along with Kuldiga’s mixed choir “Rāte” (cond. Andis Groza) In program: Danish and Latvian choir songs, Irish and Spanish church melodies and gospels as well as music form famous musicals and popular stage melody transcripts for choir.
