In continuation of the Nordic Baltic Business Forum series and addressing topical issues for Nordic investors and local businesses in the Baltics, we invite you to join us on May 12, between 9:00 and 12:30, for a business forum focusing on ”Sustainability and Innovation in the Real Estate & Construction Industries”. The Business Forum 2022 will take place in-person on May 12 at the Pullman Riga Old Town hotel, located at Jēkaba iela 24, Rīga! The full agenda is accessible on www.nbbf.lv website, which has been created with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia.

Real estate development and construction are one of the main drivers of economic growth, which has suffered heavily during the global pandemic, but now are facing even bigger challenges and disruptions due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The demand for housing and commercial real estate is up, but so are the costs and demands in the area of sustainability, innovation, energoefficiency that would allow to achieve the ambitious goals set forth by the European Green Deal and reduce Europe’s energy dependence on imported fossil fuels.

The upcoming forum, which will feature prominent speakers from the public sector, including the Mayor of Riga, macroeconomic analyst from Latvijas Banka, renowned experts and leading real estate developers in Latvia, will focus on sustainable and innovative approaches, new materials and design structures that will redefine the real estate and construction in the years to come.

What is the current macroeconomic context, which will affect the future of real estate development in Latvia and the Baltics?
