FICIL 14th High Council Reception

This year the Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia (FICIL) will hold its 14th High Council Meeting with the Government of Latvia on 27 – 28 May, 2010. In order to mark the occasion FICIL is holding a reception on 27 May 2010. The reception is organised for FICIL members, High Council delegates, representatives from the government and ministries as well as representatives of the Latvian Employers’ Confederation and Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be invited.
DCCL is an active member of the Council and as a member of the DCCL you are invited to take part in this event. The reception will take place on 27 May 2010 at 18:00, venue Gold Hall of the Riga Latvian Society House, 13 Merkela Street, Riga. The entrance fee to the reception is 15 LVL per person. Invitations and fees to the reception will be administered by the DCCL.

FICIL has been organising these annual High Council events to discuss topical issues of the Latvian economic development with the government. The High Council Event serves as a platform for the exchange of views and ideas between the foreign investors and the representatives of Latvian government institutions. This year FICIL would like to raise questions regarding necessity to analyse the overall macroeconomic situation in the Baltic Countries for the coming years and Latvia’s outlook in this context. FICIL tax group will develop proposals for tax administration improvement and will look for a comment on the government’s vision for future direction of the country in regards of taxation. It is planned to have a report on the implementation of the dual-system vocational education training pilot project in logistics and transport sphere as a follow up of the previous two High Council meetings.
